The production of Ankarsrum Assistent started in 1940, in the Swedish factory Electrolux. During the Second World War, Swedish households had to save costs much more than before. Families could not bake, cook, preserve jam and put it away. Because of all this, a massive food processor became necessary.

The present appearance of Ankarsrum was established in 1969.
