1. Use of bakery products
The most obvious use is when you make a poppy seed cake.
One of the most typical leftovers you can find in a household is several days old, slightly dry baked goods. It is also an ideal recipe for poppy seeds cake because it is a relatively easy dish to make, and it is especially delicious when made from dry buns.
But there is another alternative to using dry baked goods:
- diced and fried, you can make an excellent soup topping
- breadcrumbs are also a really good use
- and let's not forget about the toasted bread: at first you wouldn't even think how varied it is to make a simple toast, from exotic toppings to seasoning
2. Using cooked rice
It happens to everyone that sometimes there are a few side dishes left over after cooking. This is not worth throwing away either, and even one of the most classic side dishes, boiled rice, can be used afterwards in many ways.
You can make a great egg rice from a small portion of cooked rice, which is one of the best nutritional value leftover food. You can make it even more delicious with freshly cut spring onions or fried bacon.
You can use the remaining rice for stuffed peppers, risotto, or mix it with stew to make rice meat.
3. Use of vegetables
If you come across slightly older vegetables in the household, it's not worth throwing them away either! Cut it into small pieces, you can use it in ragu, soup or stew.
You can even make ratatouille from the larger amount of tomatoes and peppers.
4. Using Breaded Schnitzel
There are very few foods more nostalgic and tastier than Breaded Schnitzel! The next day, or the third day, it is still perfectly edible and not worth throwing away at all. A Breaded Schnitzel sandwich is an obvious and simple option, which is perfect not only for dinner, but also for lunch.
Maybe cut it into strips and use it for a tortilla roll. Since we cannot say that the tortilla roll is a classic dish of Hungarian gastronomy, everyone in the family will appreciate the reimagined specialty.
