It's not too late: bring back the summer atmosphere with boiled corn!

Boiled corn

The corn season lasts from June to the end of September! This means that even in September, you can conjure up a summer atmosphere anywhere with a little boiled corn!

After all, no summer is complete without boiled corn!

But what makes this little snack mouth-wateringly delicious??

Buying corn for cooking

The key is to buy sweet cornFeed corn tubes can also be cooked, but they are more difficult to soften and are not as tasty. They can mostly be distinguished by the fact that the fodder corn is dark, while the sweet corn is much lighter in color.

Buy deliciously smelling, healthy corn. The more, greener leaves protect it, the better, because this proves that it is not dried out.

And don't wait more than 2 days to cook! The pleasant sweet taste disappears in 3-4 days.

Boiled corn: Not just unnecessary calories!

Before we get into the trick of cooking corn, let's briefly mention that corn not only tastes heavenly, but it's also healthy.!

Maize contains vitamins C, E and D in a natural form. In addition, it has a high content of magnesium, manganese and phosphorus, and thanks to the folic acid it contains, it also fills the body with energy.

It is worth knowing that it is also gluten-free, so even people with gluten sensitivity can eat it. And because of the unsaturated fatty acids, it also lowers cholesterol.

Preparing the corn for cooking

Cooking corn begins with cleaning the corn. Throw away the top layer of leaves, but put the other leaves aside! Cut off the top part of the corn with a sharp knife!

If you find the corn long, you can cut it into 2-3 pieces. Finally, wash the corn and the set aside leaves.

Boiled corn: the cooking time

You can use pot for cooking! Put the corn and the washed leaves in it (they will make the corn tastier), and pour enough water to cover it! Some people believe that you should line the bottom of the pot with the leaves, while others say that you should cover the corn with them from above. You can even try both at the same time!

Opinions also differ on whether anything else should be added to the water. Some recommend salt, others add sugar, some even add butter!

The water must be boiled on medium heat, and after it boils, reduce the heat! Then cover the pot with a lid and cook the corn in the bubbling water until they are soft. How long it takes for the corn to soften varies. Usually 8-10 minutes is enough, but it happens that you have to cook for up to half an hour. You can check when it is cooked perfectly with a fork.

It can be eaten fresh immediately, or it can be kept in the fridge for a few days wrapped in foil or aluminum foil. And it can even be used for salad, soup or other dishes.

Also get a table cotton candy maker and the whole of September will be summery!
