Buy durable, thoughtfully designed tools, even for professional restaurant kitchens, such as knives and slicers. We'll show you!

Indispensable kitchen tools

Let's look at the most important small kitchen appliances. These are basic pieces that should be considered when equipping any kitchen. Choose ergonomically designed pieces that are of good quality.

Preparation

Food preparation tools can make peeling, grinding, and cutting easier. Provided you choose the best ones. 

  • Vegetable peeler: Peeling vegetables is a simple kitchen task. You can also choose a simple peeler for a lower price. But even from this you can buy a more durable one, which is not much more expensive, nor is it a more complex device, it is simply more loadable and durable. This is why restaurant kitchens usually choose a stainless steel vegetable peeling blade, for example. This, for example, was created with a julienne cutting blade. 

  • Cutting board: Keep several sizes of cutting boards in your kitchen so that you can always use the most practical size. Otherwise, it's worth keeping a separate cutting board for each type of raw material, so cut meat differently than vegetables.

  • Knife set: A knife set is a more complex thing. A professional knife set includes a chef's knife, which is otherwise universal because it has a thick enough blade to easily cut with it. What's more, you don't have to lift it after each cut, because of its curve. In addition, it can be used for slicing meat and vegetables. The fillet knife can also play a more serious role in a well-assembled and, of course, well-utilized kitchen. We are talking about a knife with a thin blade, which is particularly pointed and sharp. The steak knife is also standard equipment. These knives are the same size as cutlery knives, only much sharper and usually have wooden handles. Such a knife is also often needed during food preparation. What else do you need in a knife set? For example, a meat cleaver that is particularly large and sharp. We use it to cope with larger cartilages as well. The bread knife has a much smaller but generally thicker handle and a long blade. This knife has a serrated, wavy blade. Pots and pans

  • Pots: Pots are the tools that are tall but not wide. You should keep 3-5 pots at home, in different sizes. Why? Because if you prepare several dishes at the same time, you should still have enough on hand. Have two smaller pressure cookers, which are only 1-1.5 liters. You can make sauces and stir-fries in it.   • Pans: The characteristic of pans is that they are wider than their high. It is also worth keeping 3-4 different sized pans at home. So that you have a pan for different amounts of food in which you cook, or you just prepare one component separately. You should keep a pan from 2 liters up to 10 liters, because this way you can really cook and bake in a variety of ways. You might even want to get a slicer.

  • Baking trays: You can find 2-3 different sizes of baking trays in a well-equipped kitchen. After all, we may need it for several types of food. The size of the baking tray is not only important because of the amount of portions, but also the height of the rim. For example, in the case of casseroles.

  • Frying pans: 2-3 pcs are needed. The more solid, the better the heat distribution. That's why, for example, you can't go wrong with a stainless steel pan made of several plates. The pan also has the advantage of being non-stick. Keep pans in several sizes at home. For example, we can show you a very professional 0.6 liter pan. There are many dishes that should be quickly browned before being prepared over a slow fire. After all, this is how we can really seal the fibers of the meat, so it remains juicy and soft inside. A very good example of this is the Burgundy beef or the classic steak. So if you are a real gourmand, you definitely have 1-2 good pans in your kitchen.

  • Heat resistant dishes: The advantage of the heat resistant dish is that it heats the food evenly, so the food cooks evenly. In addition, the heat-resistant glass also helps with especially tasty serving, so you kill two birds with one stone with such a dish. We recommend that you keep at least one larger one at home, but in fact we think 2-3 different sizes are really optimal.

  • Pancake pans: An eternal classic and, of course, a basic accessory. When choosing a pancake pan, make sure it is compatible with your stove. Induction hobs are becoming more and more common, but we need a special pan for them. This also counts when baking pancakes, of course. You can also use an electric pancake maker.
