Kitchen records: from 24 thousand washed plates to a 3-meter pot

In the kitchen, cleanliness comes first. It's no use cooking masterfully and having a kitchen full of professional tools if basic hygiene conditions are not met. Fortunately, this thesis is not a subject of debate, it's no coincidence that the Guinness Book of Records is full of records related to dishwashing.

For example, large kitchen cleaning product brands like to join such record-breaking attempts so that their names are associated with top performances - if not elsewhere, you may be familiar with this demonstrative genre from domestic TV commercials.

Procter and Gamble demonstrated in 2016 that it is unbeatable at cleaning dishes with its dishwashing detergent called Joy. To do this, they organized a record-breaking experiment in the Philippines, where 300 people washed 2,017 dishes using a single bottle of Joy in honor of the upcoming New Year. The experiment was successful: more people than ever before have washed dishes at the same time in the world (at least according to the Guinness Committee).

According to the organizers, the event was not easy to organize, and they even held a special rehearsal to ensure that the dishes were clean enough to meet the Guinness World Records requirements. But a year later, another major cleaning brand, Henkel, managed to surpass this: After a huge feast in Algeria, a total of 412 people washed dishes together at the same time.

However, if we take the category of most plates washed, we don't have to go that far, as in Denmark in 2004, a total of 24,000 plates were washed during a 12-hour record attempt.

The biggest dishwashing!

When it comes to records, not only numbers but also impressive dimensions are important. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the record holder in this dimension is an American gentleman who washed the world's largest dish after the 2008 Super Bowl. The dish was 3 meters long, and Emmit Smith, a former NFL legend, used Dawn Direct Foam dishwashing detergent (also a Procter & Gamble product). Congratulations to them!
